Campbell

Candidate for Gallatin County Superintendent of Schools

Proactive Leadership for Strong, Stable Schools

Education has shaped Deanna Campbell’s life — in classrooms, in communities, and in the institutions she has built and strengthened.

Deanna has taught at every level, from preschool through adult education, and has served on school boards with a deep commitment to student success. Her roots in education are long-standing and personal.

But her leadership extends beyond traditional roles.

As the founder of a Gallatin County–based 501(c)(3), Deanna mobilized local support to build schools in remote Himalayan villages where children had gone generations without formal education. Working with limited resources and disciplined organization, she helped establish sustainable schools from the ground up — bringing students to grade-level proficiency and opening doors to further opportunity. Her work earned both local and national recognition and demonstrated her ability to turn vision into lasting results.

In addition to her educational leadership, Deanna built a successful business career grounded in financial management, long-range forecasting, and navigating economic volatility. She understands that institutions do not endure by compliance alone — they endure through proactive leadership, disciplined planning, and structural stability.

Gallatin County is one of Montana’s fastest-growing and most dynamic regions. Property valuations fluctuate, markets shift, and fiscal pressures can emerge quickly. While the County Superintendent’s statutory duties include certification, oversight, and compliance, Deanna believes the role can provide more proactive leadership — particularly in helping districts anticipate volatility, strengthen reserves, and protect long-term financial stability.

Deanna currently serves as an elected Bozeman City Study Commissioner, entrusted with reviewing and evaluating the structure of local government and recommending improvements when necessary. This experience reinforces her belief that strong institutions require periodic evaluation, transparency, and proactive leadership — not simply maintenance of the status quo.

If you believe in this work, I welcome your support.
